Question:

Question about a job?

I had an interview with a company about 2 weeks ago. I called them today to ask if they had made a decision yet.

I did not really get a clear answer.

I was told that they sent papers to their main office in San Francisco and are conducting, background checks, crimminal checks etc.

Is this good reason for me to believe that they want to hire me?

Is it okay for me to think that if they did not want to hire me, they would never send background checks, and crimminal checks, to their main office in San Francisco?

Thanks.

  1. I would guess you are a finalist.

  2. As a prior manager for a large corporation i can assure you that the background checks and criminal record checks are usually done after the candidates are selected to be hired.

I am reluctant to tell you that your being hired because our policy was to let the individuals know if employment was pending. It would cost a fortune to test every candidate that applied. Did you speak directly to the interviewer? My guess is to keep plugging away at interviews and do not wait for this to develop.
