My boyfriend is really into boats, he has many model ships and nautical decor. He's always wanted one of those "things" from the movie Titanic.. that thingy the guy pulls back and forth to make the ship go slower or faster.. what the h**l is that thing called? His birthday is coming up, I'd like to find at least a replica of one. I've searched the internet with no luck!!

  3. Engine Order Telegraph

  4. Engine Order Telegraph.  I have a small model of one.  Email me and I will ship it to you.  I'm not a perv.  Mine looks just like this:

I would love to have an authentic one, but they are VERY expensive.

I actually used to have to be the helmsman in the Navy, so I had to use this.  Basically all that it does is send a signal to another similar item that is in the engine room what speed you are wanting to go and when they get the signal they adjust the speed of the ship accordingly.  That is why the "telegraph" term is used.

  5. its called a sail or a anchor

  6. I believe you mean an Engine Order Telegraph

  7. an anchor? a rudder? a steering wheel? a sail?

  8. throttle?
