Is this supposed to be used during 6th, 7th, and 8th grade grammar? Or when are you supposed to use it?

  1. Any skill builder is to be used only when the child has sufficient practice/mastery in that area to move on.

You can use specific skill builders to re-enforce concepts that need extra practice, but I would not get hung up on grade levels.

If you use a book simply because of "grade level", the child may not grasp the material if he/she did not learn the previous concepts adequately.

On the other hand if he/she is further along it would be a waste of time, and you may need to use a higher level of skill builder..

  2. Yes, it's a 6th/7th/8th grade "bridge" curriculum.  It's used both in pull-out tutoring classes (after school or free-period type situations) and during the summer to help students retain their skills so they don't have to go through the month-long review at the beginning of the next school year.
