Question about a school for the navy.

my bf grads from basic pretty soon then starts A school - to be a coremen.. so he'll be in chicago for like 6 months i think. will he be able to come home on the weekends during that time?? also, what all does he get to have with him in the dorm things??

HM A school is 14 weeks long.

he will NOT be permitted to leave base at all.  the entire school side is currently LOCKED DOWN.. No one, not even people who previously had permission to reside off base can leave at the moment.  No clue as to how long this will last..

when( IF) Liberty is restored, there will be a mileage limit.. it was 30 miles.   he will not be permitted to travel any further than that, and he must get to the Last Phase of Liberty before he can even think about it.

he will be told what he can have in the Barracks once he crosses the Tunnel.

Just and FYI, he will be a "Corpsman" not a "coremen."  A-school his life will get a bit more back to normal.  Most weekends should be free.  Depending on how far home is, he might be able to go.  As far as what' allowed in the barracks, he can have a lot more personal things and space.
