  1. probably not mad

  2. That's the classic Freakout. My bird used to do it, and follow it up with a series of ear-piercing screams. Anyone who saw him would have thought he was having a panic attack, but it's actually pretty normal behavior. He feels good, he has energy, and this is how he shows it.

  3. I think that he's just stretching or having fun and showing off.  You'll know if a tiel is mad: Their eyes will get wide, their crest will raise, and they'll hiss and make clacking noises with their beak; or they'll squawk and flap uncontrollably if they are panicked or startled.

Alot can be read in the way a tiel acts.  But right now, I think that your bird is justs stretching and relaxing.

  4. It sounds like he's just getting excited when you talk to him.  If he seems to be in good health and you enjoy having him, don't worry about it.  They are interesting little guys and show all kinds of different behaviors the books don't tell you about.  I had one that was an awesome talker and would pick up on the strangest sounds.  He used to go crazy when we played video games because of  the sounds.

  5. If he doesn't fly off his cage, I'd say he's having fun up there.  If he's upset about something, he'll bite, so I don't think he's mad.  Are his wings clipped?  You should start carrying him about the house on your shoulder.  I've found that birds can be quite a bit like dogs where they want companionship, attention, and become part of the family.
