Question:

Question about a wedding...?

So my sister just had her wedding and all went well except the next day, we were looking at pictures of her wedding cake and she realized that they had missed some things on how she told them she wanted! They were supposed to put strands of pearls on the layers and they only did two strands versus like fifteen! Should we call the cake place to complain and get some money back or just let it go?

  1. Just write an honest review on a website - give the baker some bad ratings.  That at least might help a future customer...

  2. Let the baker know and then LET IT GO.  Honestly, you guys didn't even notice till you looked at pictures which points to how unimportant this little detail was.

  3. Let it go.  It's done with, no one noticed then, and she was happy with it at the time.

  4. Call- you paid and didnt get what was ordered!

  5. Did her fiance not marry her because of it?  Did the officiant tear up the marriage license when he saw the monstrosity that was a cake with missing pearls?  Did she suddenly realize that her new husband ISN'T the love of her life because of this cake tragedy?

No, probably not, that's insane!  Right?

It's just a cake!  Seriously!  The wedding obviously went off without a hitch and now it's like she's looking for things to be upset about (why she would want to be upset about her wedding is beyond me).  She didn't even notice it until she decided to knit-pick, and probably not a single guest noticed it.  She needs to chill out and realize that a wedding is just a day, a cake is just a cake, and she should be thrilled she's married to the love of her life!

  6. oh yeah, get some money refunded, especially since you have photographic evidence!

  7. she should have made sure she got what she ordered on the day it's too late now let it go

  8. my mother just got married in july and we had a similar situation...i went back to the bakery about 2hrs befor ethe wedding...the lady didnt want to do nuttin about it...i asked for anything in return ...she wasnt having it...i raised h**l..and almost went to jail on my mother wedding day...well my point is that the baker is pretty much not gonna be helpful at all especially since the wedding took place....all the baker offered me was to drag the 3 tier cake back and have them adjust colors and wat not...its most likely a waiste of time and gas...all your gonna do is get frustrated...but then again maybe ur baker will be more understanding...i mean give it a try it never hurts...GOOD LUCK!!!!

  9. Let it go...it obviously didn't ruin her day b/c she didn't even notice until the next day.

  10. Check the order form.  If it says "15 pearl strands" or "10 - 20 pearl strands" on it then I would definitely call the baker.  If they did not deliver explicitly what the order states, they were in the wrong.

If the order form only specifies "pearl strands" without a finite number, then going back now and saying, "But that's not what I wanted" will probably be futile.  They delivered a cake with pearl strands, and if the order didn't have at least an estimate of a number noted, then they just guess, and let me tell you, they will always guess on the short side.  If she wants she could call and complain but they likely won't do anything.

In any case I'm sure her cake was lovely anyway and that only she noticed the oversight.
