Question about about recording system?

I'm wondering, My mom is looking for a recording system to see who is stealing things out of our yard and she said price really doesnt matter but i would like to make sure im getting a good deal. do you know of any websites where i can purchase one of these? if you could make sure the price isnt TOO steep that would be great

you can get a quality webcam for cheap, just use it. If you take a look, most packaged "security recording systems" are glorified webcams hooked up to a computer.

The only problem I would foresee is lighting at night.
