Question about acne?

Ok so I'm 16 and I've had acne for a bout a year now, but not very much at all, just a little here and there..my dad had alot of acne and he told me that it's just a genetic thing that got passed down to me. But, I also heard some things about how acne can develop based on the foods you eat..So my question is, which factor is more determining in someone having acne: their genetics, or what they eat?....or could it be a combination of both? (If it's what I eat that gives me acne, I would appreciate advice on what to eat instead...)

  1. Avoid eating junk foods and  oily foods especially nuts, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Stress can also cause acne. Have enough sleep!!

  2. it could be both, my boyfriend gets acne from chocolate and its generic for him too. use proative before it gets worse. good luck! :)

  3. It is a combination of both. My mom and 3 siblings all had acne but I didn't although I got pimples here and there. Avoid greasy foods, wash your face before bed and wash your pillow case often especially if you don't wash your face at night. All the germs accumulate and you put your face there (if you sleep facing down) every night. Also, drink a lot of water.

  4. some people say food and ance have no connection others swear it does just wash your face in the morning and night try ance free ( some people say its better than proactive bc it doesn't dry out skin and u can buy it you don't have to order it)  you can get it at any drug store it comes with a toner face wash and lotion...drink lots of water..don't don't eat too much junk food.

  5. It's a combination of both.

What you eat affects your appearance: skin, hair, weight, etc.

For good skin, drink plenty of water and get enough sleep.

Good foods to eat include lean proteins, fish, whole grains, veggies, etc.

  6. No chocolate. No fatty foods like French fries and fast food of any kind; they contain lots of grease bad for the skin and health.

    Your choice. :)
