i chewed my nails for my entire life and now I'm trying to grow them out so i can go and get acrylic nails professionally put on. but I'm not sure how long they have to be before i can go to get them done. right now there not even to the end of my finger. is that to short. the sooner i can get them done the better because I'm getting tempted to bite them again.

  1. I use to bite my nails too and they were Extremely short...

Most of the times the people at the salon will be able to make it work or else they'll tell you if they can't.

If you're trying to stop biting your nails... Get gels put on (they're easier on your natual nail then acryllics). Then... let the gel nails grow out and just file them down every 3-4 days until its just your natural nail left.

  2. they cut your nails when you go get them done anyways. i get solar nails... they glue on tips and then put on the pink and white stuff they use. doesn't matter that they are short.

  3. Acrylics will mess your fingernails up even more.  They recommend your fingernails go past the nail bed before putting on acrylics.  Why not spend the money to buy a manicure to make your nails look nice and put a coat of stop bite ( by the nail polish at the store) to keep you from biting.

  4. I have ALWAYS had short fingernails, and it doesnet matter what length your real nails are you can still get them, they will just be shorter. Just go get them done now.

  5. I would probably wait a few days, but if you really need them and they don't hurt I guess that all right I've done that before and nothing happen.
