  1. The time it takes to adopt depends on a lot of things.  Like how old of a child you want.  What type of agency you go through.   If you are willing to adopt sibling groups, or children with disabilities.  They are a lot of children out there to be adopted.  As far as I know you don't have to make a certain income.  You just have to be able to provide for your family, and most agencies will ask what your income is to prove you can provide.  It took us two years from the time we started to when we finally were chosen.  Then two months later we got her and then it took 10 months before the adoption was finalized.  Of course we were adopting from a different state so that takes longer too, you have to abide by the laws from both states.  Good luck!

  2. It depends on the state you live in, the agency or manner in which you go about it, and what kind of adoption you're looking for. The process in my state took the adoptive parents about 7 months before they were chosen by the birth mom for an open adoption with the child. Once they were chosen, there was the remainder of the pregnancy to wait through and then 6 months post before everything was final, with no complications. I would just call any local adoption agency and ask them for information.

  3. What country do you want to adopt from
