I live in Indiana and I was wondering since I am in a volunteer SAR program where can I get more search and rescue/survival training so that I can become apart of a professional search and rescue team?

  1. Try the Indiana emergency Management Association - probably called IEMA - They are the local agency for FEMA.

They offer training and organize search/rescue teams.

  2. Well for starters I'd contact IFD (Indianapolis Fire Department) and ask about Task Force One training.  That's the team Indiana sends to other disasters.  You might contact IDNR Law Enforcement Division and see if they can offer any help.  Volunteer or full time firefighter might also be a route to go.  Many larger cities know have confinedd space rescue personal.

  3. Your best bet is to ask in your area, perhaps the search and rescue through your local police dept. or forestry dept.
