Lately I have seen these yellow bumpy strips around buildings...they are popping up everywhere. They are so dang hard to walk on. Does anyone know what they are for? I have been told they are for the disabled, but I dont understand how it helps them.

  1. Maybe they're for blind people so they can 'feel' where they're walking.  They have similar strips in places like China.

  2. They are called truncated domes and are used to help the visually impaired navigate.  They are part of ADA compliance for new sidewalks.

  3. They are speed bumps so the buildings don't move to fast.

  4. take away the fun for skateboards

  5. Insensitive much?
