im getting an anti-eyebrow piercing. i have questions, only answer if you actually know what your talking about, please.

after just getting it pierced, how long would i have to wait to replace the jewelry with a clear retainer, for a few hours at a time? would it be possible to take out the jewelry for about 5 hours if i immediately put it back in, about a week after i got the piercing?

also, i know there is a good chance of rejection, if the jewelry starts to reject and i take it out in time, and let the area completely heal, would i be able to pierce in the same spot again?

  1. I've never seen surface retainers. I doubt they make them. Best chance would be just to take the balls off and put some clear o-rings on to stop it falling out. You can probably do that easily after a month. Gently once it stopped crusting, and the swelling gone done. Solves switching jewellery out too.

You could get a PTFE bar custom heat set for you though, if you're that desperate. Though it won't look all that different.

You can pierce in the same spot, just hurts a little more. But often has more chance of staying put next time.

If you've only had a week. It won't survive being changed or left out. Surface bars are a pain to change when they're healed.

    Microdermals?

Make sure they do it with a surface bar anyway..

Surface piercings won't last long without jewellery in them. Even totally healed ones struggle. Fiddly things to change. Flare up easily. And when its near your eye, not really worth it.

And curved barbells [and straight PTFE) are baad for [most] surface piercings. Surface bars all the way.

  2. I do know an answer to one of the questions....

If you take the jewelry out and allow it to heal, you cannot re-pierce threw the scar tissue.

Not sure about the other questions. So I will leave it at that. Good Luck and I wish I could have been more helpful.

  3. your supposed to wait around 4 weeks before taking out the jewelry even if you are only taking it out for a short period of time. if you take it out after only a week, theres a high possibility that it wil close up very fast. and if it starts to reject, take it out and let it heal 100%. then after its healed you should wait like 2 weeks before you go to get it repierced. waiting the extra 2 weeks will just guarantee that it is completly healed before you go to pierce it again.
