Question about apartment noise?

Right now I am living in a garden level apartment with very NOISY people living above me who love to stomp around until the wee hours of the morning. I am thinking about moving to a new apartment that is on the top level of the building. Do I just hear most of the noise now because these people are right above me or will I still hear tons of noise from people next to me on the top level? I am so sick of noisy neighbors!

we used to live in a nice neighborhood apartment, 2nd floor first it was nice and quiet and peaceful, after six months ,both our 3rh and 1st level neighbors left and new ones came in the 3rd level had lots of kids running around and u cant sleep and the 1st level used to smoke weeds and play loud music we complained to management and  complain complain they stop for a while then back to the habit i end up calling the cops they arrested the 1st level guy but couldn't do anything to the one above i finished the lease and rented a house peace of mind and quiet and more freedom. i am sure there is lots of one to two bed house or condominium for the price of apt. rental specially here in California if you are a cali. resident. hope this helps but never go to more than a 2 story apt. just to let know last floor is always hot but more quiet on the other hand 1st floor is always cool but could be noisy

I'm being blunt but i think they are not stomping they are haveing s*x and 2 jsut tell them about it

If it's that bad tell them about it. I know if IU was a noisy neighbor i would appreciate someone telling me. If that doesnt work tell the landlord and if that doesnt help start being a ***** and banging on the ceiling make them hear noise too. try it before u go through the hassle of moving.
