Question:

Question about asparagus

The house I'm buying has an asparagus patch that's 10 feet long by 4 feet wide. Apparently it's been a good producer for years. I don't care much for asparagus, but it seems others go nuts for it. Is it a plant that can be harvested a few times a season like beans? Or is it one that once you take the stem, that part is done? I already have people chumming up to me when I mentioned the patch.

  1. hI, don't cut it away because some people crave asparagus I'm not a lover myself but i know people who do it's one of the more expensive vegetables.

  2. start a business..sell it to one who needs it for a good chunk of price...dont cut it away...:)

  3. During the asparagus season it will just keep growing. In fact the more you cut it, the more it grows.

Where I live you can pick wild asparagus over the countryside. It starts about February time and will go through to May provided we have rain. It always does better after a wet spell. Having said that, we haven't had much rain at all this year.

Asparagus is my favourite vegetable. You will have lots of friends if you give it away.
