Question:

Question about baby's eye color?

I have three sons. The oldest is three, and has blue eyes, which reflect red in the iris when I take photographs. The second boy is 19 months, and has brown eyes in which the iris appears black in photographs. My third son is three weeks old, and of course has the newborn blue eyes at this point. His eyes reflect red in the iris, although not as brightly as his oldest brother. Does this mean his eyes will maintain the blue coloring? Just curious.

  1. the red reflect is more dependant on the angles between the light source, the eyes, and the camera rather than the eye color of your childern. Now if your son has blue eyes as a newborn, IT MAY be a mucosal layer that many babies have (often babies appear to have blue eyes) but at 3 weeks there is a good chance that he will maintain the blue color since it is a genetic trait

  2. it doesn't mean anything really. maybe it is the place in which you are taking the pictures in, maybe the flash is too much for their eyes.......  i have brown eyes and they can appear red ( and i mean completely red ) in some pics. but it don't mean anything really.
