Just need some advice...:D

To all the working moms out there, how hard is it to work 3rd shift and raise a 16 month old (no daycare) , husband working 15-18 hour days, ? We don't have a local daycare and the one that we do have has a lawsuit against it for child abuse (completely turns me against it totally!!) Im in school (online college) right now and just wanna know for all of the working moms out there how hard is it working 3rd and raising a baby? Any of you guys doing it right now and if so I would like to know how hard/easy it is. Any suggestions on pt jobs and baby? THe only option it seems that I have is a night position right now.

  1. omg i would totally love to work nights again! when i had my daughter i worked nights as a waitress and it totally worked for us. dad watched her at night and i watched her during the day so no daycare worries! there were a couple hours in between each of our shifts for us to spend together too. i loved working nights so i could sleep in and not worry about loosing sleep to a restless baby and be up by a certain time to go to work, i could wake up whenever. i had time to run errands, play with the baby, etc. before i had to go to work and dad had her fed and in bed by the time i got home. now we both work days and have a new son so our daughter had to go to 'daycare' and my grandma watches my son. its very tiring because i have to wake up early and get the kids ready, spend all day at work, no time to run errands after work, have to cook dinner, get kids bathed and ready for bed, ect. the time goes by too fast and not enough time to spend playing with the kids before we start our routine all over again. it sucks for me...

  2. work a seperate shift from your hubby, and it wont be easy.  Get a job where your boss will understand if you have to leave because you can never be the same type of emplyee with a child.  Places liek Tim Hortons, and most restaurants realize when you have to run and have a lot of other staff if you need to leave.  Plus you can make a lot of tips which helps if you can only work part time!  Good Luck!
