Question about bailey's and other hard liquors ingeneral?

Hey im going to my friends college to chill and drink, I've basically only drank beer before besides on rare occasions. but i want to get one bottle of hard liquor to go with the beer (wont be drank on same night) i don't know what kind to get tho. i saw bailey's on a commercial and it looks good but idk if it will even get me drunk and i haven't tried it. So what you guys think is a good kind? or should i just try baileys? btw i dont want any sprinkle sparkle c**p lol

Buy a bottle of vodka. Baileys is a liqueur, a sweet alcoholic drink. It will get you drunk but it will kill your stomach and give you a terrible hangover because of the sugar. A mid-shelf bottle of vodka is both your cheapest and best bet for someone who doesn't drink a lot of liquor. It mixes with nearly anything.

Bailey's is an Irish Cream Liqueur, it is very sweet and has very low alcohol (17% abv).  This is not a man's drink.  Everybody is different, I prefer bourbon (Maker's Mark, k**b Creek, 1792 Ridgemont Reserve, Blanton's).  Find what you like, maybe if you like something sweet but still with higher alcohol try spiced rum.  Either Sailor Jerry's (46.5% abv) or Captain Morgan Private Stock (40% abv).

baily's is great to have as an after dinner drink.  it's creamy and sweet and like a dessert in a glass, but you'd have to drink a whole lot of it to get buzzed.

also be careful about mixing bailys with other alcohols.  since bailys is so creamy it doesn't sit right in your stomach if do too much mixing throughout the night.  

i would have to say that vodka is the most neutral.  mixes well with anything.  and will give you the most options.

Baily's isn't coffee liquor, its a chocolate liquor and usually a dessert drink

Tequila, rum or vodka would be good to have on hand.

You want some hard liquor that will get you wasted, just get a bottle of "Tradicional Tequila" or "Gran Centenario Tequila" both are quality tequila, and im sure u will be huggin your toilet if u drink that....

no and dont go out and get baileys, its coffee liquor and leave that to the ladies.....

if not u can always roll with Vodka or Brandy...

Bailey's is a liqueur, meaning it has a lot of sugar and about half the alcohol content as most hard liquor.  It's usually used for mixed drinks.  If you want some straight hard alcohol, you can really get just about anything you want, but Whiskey and Rum are always pretty good.  Jack Daniels and Captain Morgan are both relatively inexpensive and pretty tasty.
