Question about bannings (from message boards, chats, etc)?

Is it ever illegal for someone to try to get around one of these bans?

Its very important you consider WHY you were banned.

If you're harassing someone, then while it may not be illegal to rejoin the community, the website may provide your information to the person your harassing so he can take you to court.

It also depends on the rules of whichever community you're banned from.  Before you try to start getting around it, I would email an administrator and tell him or her your situation.  Maybe they'll be impressed and give you a second chance.

IDs are banned, not IP addresses. Getting around a ban is easy. Just create a new ID. Woody_woodpecker gets banned? Now you're Woody_woodpecker1. Nothing illegal about that.
