Is it true that if you have a degree that you do not have to take the initial exam that ca police agencies make applicants take?

  3. The written exam is a POST requirement - all applicants have to take it.

    That being said, most agencies will assign a "T-score" to your exam. This is a POST-approved way of allowing you to apply to other agencies that also accept T-scores without having to take the exam again (since it's a POST standard). If you're applying to a lot of agencies, it'll save some time.

    1. Each agency that accepts T-scores will probably have a minimum score that they'll accept.

    2. The T-scores are typically valid for a year - but some agencies might only accept ones that are no older than 6 months.
