  1. So what is your question being on the run, this is not BAND ON THE RUN would it? Ok so the person 1 is with person2 who is on the run for crimes, and the person 2 is caught so he go to jail. NOPE the person1 wouldn't be in trouble on what ground for being with the runaway wanted by the police. Whether he knows it or not is immaterial, he didn't DO THE CRIME with person2 correct? So what is the link between person2 and person 1 with the said specific crime? NOTHING. Remember both of them according to your story is running together, so therefore only one is guilty not both of them. But if both are found in one place like home, the person1 is guilty of harboring a fugitive of the law if the said house is owned by person 1 but if it not the house is person2 ownership then again person 1 is not guilty even with association because we dwell on the crime not with association.

SO THERE IS DIFFERENCE IN RUNNING AND HIDING from the law.

  2. If person 1 knew what was going on then they could be in trouble, "Aiding and abetting an offender to evade arrest."  That is a felony.  now if person 2 had a misdemeanor warrant, that's no big deal.  Make that a murder warrant and its a different story...

  3. Only if you knew person 2 was on the run and didn't report him will you be in any trouble.  It sounds, from your question, that you are aware of the fact.  Save yourself the trouble (and record) and ditch the "runner".

  4. well if person 2 rob a bank then yes person 1 would be in a lot of trouble. if person 2 has outstanding tickets and there a warrant out for him then no the law could care less about person 1. you did not give near enough info to know for sure.

  5. Too many variables.

  6. ok first of all if there is just an arrest warrant for 'person 2' he is not really on the run. and if you get picked up with him you had no idea there was a warrant out for this man's arrest. so you are not in trouble.

if he escaped from somewhere or has been sentenced to prison, he is then a fugitive and if you get caught with him you face serious charges

    for accessory to his escape.

  7. Your question doesn't suggest that person 1 would get into any trouble.  There is no such thing as guilt by association.  There is however action in concert, and somebody in Person 1's position could easily be suspected of committed worse than he had actually done.
