Question about betta?

So I had asked a while back about a possible bubble nest that my male beta had made. I was confused by it because they actually didnt look like bubbles , but like actual eggs. Silly I know but for curiositys sake I borrowed a high powered magnifying telescope to look at these things. They were a solid mass. They didnt pop and they are now at the bottom of the tank were they have sat for over a week. Well....

I went to feed him today and noticed something white coming out of the area where they p**p.

It was those white egg things. What in the heck is this?

  1. If it is a male Betta then they are not eggs. If the water is very still on the surface and there are some floating plants then the Betta most likely made a bubble nest the first time. The white stringy p**p you are seeing could be a sign of an internal bacterial infection. If you suspect your fish of having an internal bacterial infection then I have personally found that medication called "General Cure" can clear it up real quick.

  2. He may have parasites.  I'd get him on some anti-parasite meds and see if that helps.

  3. Try the website below and see if that matches your description. They also talked of parasites. Hope your fish feels better soon.

  4. I think he may have a parasite of some kind. If I were you, I would take my beta in to a Petco or something. Maybe they can have a look at him and make some suggestions. I know I was able to take my beta in to a local pet store and, even though he unfortunately had tuburculosis and there was nothing they could do, they still were very helpful and gave me a medicine that kept him alive for an extra week.

Anyway, there are parasite medications. And give them Betta Fix. It worked wonders for all my betas.

Here also is a website that really helped me with my betas.

Good luck and I hope he is okay!
