Question about birth control especially Yaz?? ?

I'm been taking the birth control (Yaz) for three days. I decided to go on the birth control because I have really bad cramps and my period is really long. Now I'm having second thoughts. There seems to be a lot of risks and side effects that the pill has. Is it worth it for me to continue taking the pill? Should I switch to a different pill? Thanks so much!

  1. Ive actually been on Yaz for several months now, and Ive never had any problem with it. I mean, yes, it does have side effects, but so does EVERY other kind of pill you could ever take, including Tylenol. These risks are listed as a fair warning, but they probability of them actually happening is very small, and they rarely actually happen.

You should be fine if you stay on the pills, before I was on Yaz, I was on a different kind of bc for about two years, and never had any problems with that one either.

    Good luck!

  2. I'm currently using yaz and have been for about 3 months and I'm also considering stopping. I gained weight, mostly in my b*****s though, so that's not so bad. Ive also been experiencing extreme mood swings, I don't know if this is because of the pill, but it may be.

  3. Yaz is a very good low dose pill. It is probably safer to be on Yaz than to be pregnant. Having menstrual cycles every 4 weeks is not natural either...you were designed to be pregnant or breast feeding. If you were a "cave girl" you would not be having a cycle every 4 weeks. Give theYAZ a chance. I have lots of patients on YAZ and most of them do very well with it.

  4. any pill has side effects. (including weight gain. ) so i would reconsider. just use condoms!
