  1. Bloodroot can be dangerous taken internally and so should be used with caution and under the guidance of an alternative health care provider

It also cause some minor scarring.  so be super careful!

  2. Blood Root is an escharotic - it has a caustic action on the skin. It must be used carefully, sort of like Compound W. If the lesion to be removed is large, meaning it will take several applications, one safety precaution is to apply a heavy oil (Castor oil or petroleum jelly) around the lesion to protect the healthy skin before putting the blood root on. If this product is manufactured by a reputable company, it will have detailed instructions on the package. Used properly, it's pretty safe and powdered root snuff has even been used to get rid of nasal polyps.

  3. Blood root eats away skin like pool acid does. It's caustic, and can leave nasty scars.

If you want a mole removed, see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon (they can do it in the office, inexpensively).

If you try a do-it-yourself mole removal kit, you could end up at the plastic surgeon's anyway to get the bloodroot scars fixed.
