i recently pressed some flowers. after two days, they still had not dried or lost color but they became considerably flat. so i glued them on to some ceramic tiles and layered more glue on top of them to seal out moisure. it's been a week and they are still nice and colorful,

will they ever lose their color,

  1. Because they're not completely dry they will decay under the glue, so that will either make the glue fall off, or they will turn dark brown.

I wait at least 2 weeks before opening the book, and usually 4 weeks. You can take a shortcut by pounding the flowers onto paper or cloth. Use thick handmade recycled paper. I make my own, but you can buy it. Arrange the flower face down on the paper or cloth, carefully cover it with a paper towel, and then pound away with a hammer until the color comes up through the paper towel.  Remove the paper towel and brush away the flower bits. Coat with white glue or decoupage medium to preserve the color.

  2. Yes they will lose color over time, especially if they are in sun light ;))))

  3. hopefully not

  4. i used to tape mine into sracpbooks, and they're still colorful, as long as you dont touch them too much. since i used tape, they didnt get all crinkly and fall apart. they should be fine!
