Question about boot camp.....marines only?

I want to a USMC mini-boot camp for a week and the DIs ran us around like idiots making us yell "AYE SIR!" when the DI's would yell "AT&T!!" we'd yell "REACH OUT AND TOUCH SOMEBODY!" and I was wondering if they make recruits yell like that at real boot camp.

Uhhhh...  yes.  That's part of the process... the psychology of boot camp.  It starts out pretty intense like that... but lessens as the 13 weeks go by...  

It seems to me that a 1-week program would be sort of pointless... as the psychology of USMC boot camp takes all 13 weeks to get through... 1 week is just a taste of what it's really all about... with little of the payoff.

Yes!

It is a way to instill dicipline and espirit decor in you. as for reaching out and touching someone... They are reminding you in a round about way that you are an infantry man first... and you are trained to use a rifle that can tag someone at 500 meters or more (depending on the shooter)

The reasons for the yelling I could explain, but you WILL FORGET!!! the first day you go to boot camp, and wont remember until several days or months later...
