Question about braces??

I'm getting my braces off soon and I was wondering what it done to take them off. Like does your mouth bleed, and do they pull the brackets off or what? thank you!

i've had braces too. my doctor just took a plyer type thing and popped them off after taking the wire off. it doesn't hurt you just feel a tug. then he used a tool to sand off the glue on your my from the braces. its not as bad as people say it is. you do have to wear a retainer all day though.  Congrats on getting your braces off!

They just pop the brackets off - it doesn't hurt! Also, if you had bands around your molars for rubber bands or anything, they'll have to pull those off.  It's a little uncomfortable but not painful. The whole process doesn't take long - you'll be so happy to have them off!!

i got mine off about a year ago it wont hurt or bleed its fine ill they do is take them off some times some of the stuff they use to glue them on stays there but if your dentist is good she will remove it for you.

Your mouth does not bleed at all. The simply just take the wires out, loosen the glue, then pull them off. He has to scrape the glue off, which I admit is very uncomfortable. It doesn't hurt, its just weird because it scrapes against your teeeth.  The back brackets are the hardest. It does not hurt at all. You just feel a bit of pressure. Wearing a retainer is that bad either. If you wear it like your supposed to for the beggining, you will probably only have to wear it at night. Get plenty of Efferdent (denture cleaner) You use it to clean your retainer. Congratulations on getting your braces off! You will love it.
