Why is it after swimming for a long time in the pool or ocean its harder to breath or if you breath in to deep you get this weird felling and it kinda makes you cough?

  1. If it's an indoor pool, it means the pool is not well ventilated, and you are essentially breathing in chlorine fumes from the pool chemicals.

    I've found the best thing to do is just try to cough up as much mucus or whatever as you possibly can, you'll feel better afterwards.

    If you do this multiple times a day, every day, you have a higher risk of asthma. This is why about 1/2 of all Olympic swimmers have asthma.


  2. the pressure of the water above you is pressing on your lungs

    maybe because you lungs were compressed underwater and then suddenly they expand when you get out of the water

  3. if you are in an indoor pool its the moisture build up

    other times (if this is swim team not fooling around in the pool) its a slight case of asthma

    also everyone is different and their breathing abilities do vary strange as that seems  

  4. I have found that its because you took in water when you took a breathe in. After a while of coughing you should be fine.

  5. the salt water or pool have different chemicals in them, but the water has an absorbing effect on you lungs and skin.
