Question about business registration and records in the mid 1700's?

My ancestors owned a dyeing mill - it is recorded in an old book "spen valley past and present" but it does not give the details of when the mill was started off. I have looked at the west yorkshire archives website and though there are several property transactions registered with these ancestors there is nothing directly related to the mill. Will there be any records anywhere else where i can find information or is it all lost now. The book said they traded directly with America.

  1. try footnote.com, pretty sure its international and all it is is old records (w/ pics of each document)  They have a 7 day free trial, so you can cancel same day if you cant find anything.  Thats how I found info on a land grant from George Washington to my family (from lancashire) . . .
