Question about car insurance and claiming? UK?

If i claimed against my own insurance for damage i did not do to my own car, would it have any affect on my premium or NCB. I have protected NCB.

  1. No, if you have protected no claims, your insurance won't go up & your no claims won't be affected as long as you're under the maximum number of claims to remain protected (this will be shown on your policy - eg, 3 claims in 5 years).

    I assume your car has been damaged by persons unknown. If so, you should report it to the police & get a crime number, otherwise you will need to submit the claim as if you had caused the damage yourself.

  7. Jake: because simply speaking to your insurance company about this is likely to increase your premium!

    Some policies even state that the holder must report every bit of damage to their car, so that the insurance co. can adjust (i.e. increase) their premiums.
