What is the difference between "and" or "or" on a car title.

Ex: Bob and Mary Smith

Ex:Bob or Mary Smith

  2. If the title says and both have to sign the title to sell or transfer ownership.

    If it says or only 1 of the two needs to sign.

    I work in auto claims I deal with titles all the time.

  3. It is the status of owners.  If you sold your car and it was registered to Jane and John Doe then Jane and John would both have to sign to sell the car.  If it was Jane or John then either one of you could sell the car, in other words only one of you would have to sign.
