  1. Have a look at the literature the cruise company sent you. Some cruises are "All inclusive" so the bars, on board facilities, catering and the like are already paid for.

Many charge extra for sodas. some sport facilities even some meals can be extra.

Bottom line "READ THE SMALL PRINT" You get what you paid for.

  2. On most cruise ships you have to pay for premium drinks like beer, wine, mixed/blended (alcoholic), and sodas.  On every cruise that I go on, we will find a local drugstore or grocery store nearby and buy a case of water and a 6 or 12 pack of soda.  They don't mind if you bring that on board.  We prefer bottled water and it's much cheaper to do that rather than to buy water every time you stop at a port.  They charge as much as $2 a bottle as you are leaving the ship.  The "free" water is what's served at meal time.  However, you can get water anytime from any bar or with room service.

You're not allowed to bring your own alcoholic drinks on board.  Not really sure why, but people do it anyway.  If it is packed safely in your suitcase, not your carry-on, you can get away with it.

  3. Looking to bring on some booze without being caught, this is the new hot ticket:

  4. Yes, soda and alcohol are charged.  No, you cannot take your own sodas on board.

  5. um yeah thats all true! dont worry 75% of the cruise boat food/drinks is free, and bringing your own soda in is fine! my mom and bring in McDonalds on the cruise, lol dont worry hon youll be fine

    *but you alchohal costs money!

  6. We were allowed to take soda with us on our Princess cruise.  Plus the fountain soda deals are fab if you drink a lot of it.

  7. i would recommend getting a drink card. they're only like $30 and you can get all the unlimited coke products you want. (here's a secret; shirley temples can go on the card too!)

  8. Yes, that is true.  You can get juice, water, tea and standard coffee in the casual dining room.  Gourmet coffee is not free.

Soda can be purchased by the can or an unlimited by the glass program.

By the can, $1.75 plus 15% gratuity.

Soda fountain card - unlimited by the glass, $38.50 plus 15% gratuity ($44.27) for adults.  The soda card pays for itself if you drink about 3 sodas a day.

The Soda Fountain card is not good for sodas delivered by room service.  You pay for a can if you order a soda via room service.

    Carnival serves Coke products.

We have never taken any sodas on board but I have read that many guests make it a practice.
