Question:

Question about chelada beer....?

Okay, I have heard that chelada beer is *the* beer for a hangover, and as I, strangely enough, frequently find myself with this curious condition, I bought some of it, but haven't tasted it yet.

For those who do not know, chelada is beer, tomato juice, and clam juice, all mixed together, with salt and lemon. The part I hesitate over is the clam juice...I am a vegetarian, and clam juice just seems an awful strong thing to mix in with this stuff. It may be worth it for the hangover, but I do not know if my palate can handle it. Even if I wasn't vegetarian, i don't think clam juice would be on my menu.

Who has tasted chelada, and what am I in for in drinking it?

  1. man, don't you know anything? take one 12 oz. can of beer, one small spicy hot v8, and two alka seltzer. put in tall glass. wait one minute, drink. repeat as necessary, lol

  2. For a Bud product it's descent, but I prefer a beer that I know I like, and mixing it with Bloody Mary mix.

  3. I like it, but I like everything. It's just beer and Clamato juice with salt and lime or lemon. Since you're a vegetarian, just replace Clamato juice with Tomato (V8) juice. Pour equal parts, or adjust to your liking, into a cup and enjoy (if you find it enjoyable).

As far as it being *the* beer for hangover, it's just because it has alcohol. Any alcoholic beverage will cure a hangover.

  4. its not too good um i recommend you just drink a beer for a hangover or just smoke some good old weed too bad i don't smoke any more tho. do that or just take a shot!

  5. clam juice isn't that bad... especially if you like v****a juice.   don't be fooled by the packaging though, some expensive looking ones taste like h**l, while a cheap $4/pop one may surprise you.
