Question about child care, scholarships, anything?

So, I am going to school full-time. I need child care for my son. he started one yesterday, but I asked for a refund because of the conditions. He came home with wet pants, because of a wet diaper, etc. He has developmental delays, and I found a place that specializes in this, but it costs 725 per month. The crappy one he just got out of was 500 a month IT IS CRAZY!! The school I am going to is providing tuition reimbursement up to 100 a week, so that would still give me a bill of 325. I have went to the local DSS, and the waiting list for vouchers is over 3 years long. Bleh. If I work full-time I am going to have to drop out of school, and I would still not be able to afford daycare with my bills. If I work part-time I would be juggling school, a job, and a 2 year old.

I want to finish school to provide for my son. I do not want to live off of DSS help forever.. and it is a good resource for some things, and if you need it, but it is so degrading.

Anyone know of any help I could get? :-D thanks.

  1. Have you looked into the school you attend.  If they have any early childhood programs, they may have a center on your campus.  Or even talk to someone who runs the program of what they know of in the community.

  2. A private home might work out better. Do you know a loving stay at home mother, active retiree, or a person who works only part time? Look into that option.
