  1. i heard their good escape artist dont know much about them but try chinchilla.com

  2. Chinchillas are generally not something you'd want for a child. They are pretty fragile, a hug too tight or a drop could easily seriously injure or kill one. Chinchillas take a lot of time, effort, and money. They can live anywhere from 10 to 20 years. Chinchillas are also nocturnal, so it will make some noise at night. They also, in general, don't like to be held, so if you're looking for a cuddly animal, you'll want to consider something else. All chinchillas have different personalities, so they will all have different likes and dislikes, including when it comes to human contact. They chew on EVERYTHING. They also require nightly runs in a chinchilla proof room. They also need a constant temperature, since constant change in temperature will kill them. Temperatures over 75 to 80 can kill them easily, and it's best to keep them somewhere where it's about 70 degrees. When getting a chinchilla you need to consider getting two. They are social animals living in groups of up to 50 animals. A single chinchilla can become lonely quite easily and this can lead to a number of health problems. Please do not buy a chinchilla from a pet store, these animals come from mills and you would only be supporting the horrors that go on there. At pet stores they generally cost about $150 per animals. This is way too much for a chinchilla. Please consider adoption first. There are so many unwanted chinchillas out there who desperately need homes. Adoption for an already bonded pair runs about $130, with single adoption at about $65 for a single animal.

  3. They are pretty clean for the most part. They have no sweat glands to they need to be kept in a place that has a temp. below 80 degrees. They get really attached to their owners if you get them as babies. They talk a lot, like a lot of little chirps and squeaks. That's about all i know right now.
