Are you talking about community service for school or because you got arrested?  If it's for school then yeah, it should count.  If it's because you got arrested you shouldn't be involved in youth activities (depending on why you were arrested).  You should be out doing something less enjoyable like picking up trash from the side of the road.

Yes, I think it should count. It's a volunteer position usually. Helping kids learn a sport or giving them recreation is beneficial. However, you may have to pass some hurdles depending on your offense as parents would be cautious to letting a criminal offender be around their children for safety. A waiver may have to be signed giving you permission from your probation officer, the league. players, and parents of your team.

most managers coach just long enough til their own kids can not play any longer...

as a past little league manager whom enjoyed doing it for what it was I got my rewards by just doing it !

service for the community still counts either way.
