I live in new york I recently moved here 3 years ago and started highschool freshman year (9th grade)... but before I lived in new orleans born and raised now My father still lives there and me and mom live here in ny. Im about to be a senior this year and this summer im visiting colleges etc. or whatever.. And alot of them are pretty expensive and theres a good college in louisiana Grambling State University and its really cheap but for people outside of the state its higher. So i was wondering can i use my dad address when i apply there and get charged the regular tuition of the state?? Instead of being charged outside the state

  1. So long as you have a parent living in that state and that parent has lived there for over a year, then you can get in state tuition.

I was in the same situation as you, and I am now going to a school in a different state but with the in state tuition because my mom lives here.

Just be sure to call the admissions office and make sure they understand you have a parent who lives in Louisiana. And when you fill out your application, it will ask for information on both your parents, not just the one you live with. They will see your father is in Louisiana, and probably contact him to make sure he is a state resident, so that you can be considered one to. But be sure to mention it to admissions.

    Good luck!
