What does the "with parents" and the "not with parents" mean on this college webpage??

  1. "With parents" means that your parents claim you on their taxes- ie that they will contribute to your college tuition bill (even if they won't). This is the status for most undergraduates.

    "Not with parents" means that you are financially independent from your parents- ie that you live on your own and they don't claim you on their taxes.

    They use this to determine whether or not you will have your parent's financial support while you are attending college. If you don't have help from your parents, they will give you more financial aid.
