Question about coloring hair...?

Okay, so I want to dye the underside bottom half of my hair dark, but I don't know how I should ask the beautician to do it! Is it a specific style? It would be like when I put my hair in a ponytail, the bottom half would be darker and the rest another color like this:

Just tell the stylist where exactly you want the one color to stop and the other to start. The top color of mine stopped around where the top of my ears were.

Whatever you do, just make sure that you don't wash your hair upside down (like in the sink where you're bending over). The dark haircolor will bleed through onto your lighter hair.

I did my own, so if there's a specific name for this style I have no clue what it's called. But I am SURE if you just describe what you're wanting (and take some pics in with you) the stylist will know what you're looking for.

If you can print out the photo, take it to a professional to get it done. They will best tell you what is suitable for your hair type, and you won't risk doing any major damage as if you tried to do it yourself.

it depends. If you have a dark hair color, like dark brown, and you want a funky color like pink or orange, you'll have to first bleach your hair there. Then color over it... because you can't just dye dark hair a bright color.
