  1. I wear corsets when I go somewhere formal or something.

I never heard of corset training.

    Thats interesting.

If you want a corset it might be uncomfortable in the beginning.

But you will get used to them.

  2. people do it so they don't do damage to their body from wearing a corset. I actually don't think it's supposed to be painful

  3. ouch! im sure it is!

  4. The training is supposed to take about 3 months to get a major change started. It isn't painful if done correctly. It does involve moving internal organs around which is why it is done slowly. It will be uncomfortable until you are accustomed to moving with a corset on.

  5. Everyone will have different reasons for corset training. This could be to reduce the waist, like the look, enjoy the feel of the corset etc.

If done properly it should not be painful, the waist should be reduced slowly over time allowing the body to adapt to the new shape. The feel of the corset should be like a firm even overall embrace.

However to train the waist takes a lot of commitment both in dollars and time. You need to wear the corset a lot, generally 23hrs 7 days a week. This can be restrictive on your lifestyle as there are somethings that are difficult to do with a corset on; the torso is rigid and breathe capacity is reduced (obviously the gym is out), meals need to be smaller and more often as the stomach size is reduced etc.

You can't just buy a corset off the rack, which is generally fine for occasional wear, you will need to buy custom made corsets that fit perfectly. These are not cheap, $300+, and you will need two for the day, one for day wear and one for sleeping. You will also need 2 or 3 sets so that you can still be tight laced when laundering, unless you don't mind the pong ;). As the waist is reduced, relitively quickly at first, these corsets will need to be replaced with smaller ones.

This is not a weight reducing exercise, although that may occur due to the limited level of food intake. There are also possible problems, the main one being a weak back. As the back is supported by the corset the muscles will atrophy as they will no longer be required for support. In your 1 hr break per day you will need to do some exercises to strenghten the back muscles. There are other possible problems, refer to this site for more information

    look under medical.

This is not a decision to be taken lightly, you will need a mentor, generally a corsetierre that will also make the corsets for you.

  6. Never heard of it. What is it? Training to be able to wear a corset? Sounds pretty crazy to me! lol

  7. Vanity Insanity

  8. I think they start out innocently then it becomes addictive & an obsession.  A fetish that they can't easily put down.  Now with the advent of the internet people can easily post their pictures & compete for tiniest waist, etc.  Whereas in the past, these people might do it a little in their own local 'cliques' but it wasn't as widespread.

They say there's no pain with practice--your organs get used to being schrunched up & sort of move outta the way.  So it's not really painful but it does restrict your movements.
