Question:

Question about dating after separation/divorce?

I've been alone for about 1 year and a half, will soon be divorced from my abusive, drug-addict and cheating ex-husband.

We have 1 child, of which I have sole legal custody, and him limited visitation rights. I take care of everything for my child, and he's a happy little man.

I have worked on myself, and I am happy with my life now.

I have met a man who is intelligent, nice, funny and a pleasure to hang out with. We are currently in the "getting to know each other" period, because we've both been hurt. I do not want to get together with someone for just a few weeks, I am not the type to jump from relationship to relationship...

So my question is, what type of questions should I ask to really get to know him? Any ideas?

  1. good question, i'll give you a star

and i also want to give you my sincere congratulations for moving on with your life, i was in that kind of relationship too, he was addicted to pain killers was more mentally abusive then anything esle..never cheated though as far as I know, it's a drag it really brings you down alot....but it's a good thing that you've moved on!...Ask him where he see's himself in 5 years, that kinda wraps everything into 1 question

  2. i think watching someones behavior tells way more than answering a question

all the little things, how do they react to poor service in a restaurant? is there day always a bad day, is someone always out to get them? how they drive, very aggressive or patient?  etc etc

all these things and more translate down to someones day to day personality.  Just watch him.

  3. I think the best way to get to know someone is by spending time together doing everything from going to dinner to going grocery shopping.  When you spend time doing everyday things, you can get a true look at their personality.
