Is it possible to negotiate a payment plan on a debt settlement? Say if you tried to get a $1000 settlement... can you negotiate with the person and tell them you'll pay it in two monthly installments of $500? Or is that not (or rarely) possible?

  1. You can always try.....I'd be sure to get written terms of this settlement which states that the account will be considered paid in full upon receipt of the money.

DO NOT pay them by giving your bank account #....Pay only via USPS money order.

  2. you can always go to money lender that suit your payments that you can afford

  3. It is a possibility - depends on the creditor - ensure it is part of your negotiations & that they are aware of your intent before considering the arrangement to be in the bag.

  4. All things are negotiable.  You can certainly make the attempt (I would) the question is will the creditor accept your terms.

  5. Yes its possible......but it will depend upon your creditors. If you can negotiate, its well and good.

But if you are not able to manage you can go for a debt negotiation plan or debt settlement plan which mainly involves negotiations with the creditors to reach a reduced payoff balance on debts and that cuts total debt of an individual, sometimes over 50%, with lower monthly payments.
