Question:

Question about diarrhea?

I tend to get diarrhea from eating certain types of ice cream, so I suppose i have some type of lactose intolerance. I really hate to buy ice cream and not be able to eat it. I was wondering if it's the amount of ice cream I am eating. I was wondering if I could control the diarrhea by eating limited amounts, or will this do no good?

  1. consult a doctor

  2. I'd make an appointment with a doctor to discuss your symptoms, but until you do that, I believe there are a few products on the market geared specifically toward people with lactose issues. Why do you think it's a lactose issue? Do you get diarrhea from other dairy products?  I'd be more likely to think that there are additives, preservative, flavorings that your body is reacting to, not the dairy.  If it was the dairy, all ice cream would affect you the same way since they all contain milk.  Good Luck

  3. It still wouldn't help, my friend who was lactose intolerant went to her doctor and he gave have a pill and then she could eat and drink any kind of dairy products, i dont know how bad she had it, but it helped her. Maybe you dont have it that bad and you can get the pill off of your doctor

  4. JUST TAKE THIS... it's chewable and really not that bad!!!

The original lactase dietary supplement. Enzyme Supplement. LACTAID Fast Act helps prevent the gas, bloating or diarrhea that many people may experience after eating foods containing DAIRY.*

  6. Pretty sure you are lactose intollerant try soy icecream it's not that bad.

  7. well, im pretty sure that you are lactose intolerant and i hate to tell you this, but you shouldn't have any of it. of course its good, i know it, you know it, but you have to live with it. I know what it's like. im allergic to all fruits except bananas and allergic to some vegetables and its sucks because i love the taste of fruits, but if i have them, my throat swells up and my face and i can't breathe. im totally not making this up. But ya, try not having it and see if you get diahhrea again, and if you do, it's of course something else. hope i helped!!!

  8. EW GROSS POOPIE!

  9. you cant spell it i know that its DIARRHOEA

  10. Well I wouldn't go near ice cream unless you enjoy diarrhea... But if you do, have at it!

  11. I have the same problem as you. If you eat ice cream too much your belly button will start bleeding because of all of the t**d in your stomach.

  12. Just drink plenty of water, soups and fruits and vegetables.

  13. Maybe you should consult your Doctor, or stop eating ice- cream and see if that helps.

Because if that's what it is, no reason to keep doing it.

    You can always experiment.

    See if it does help?

  14. Moderation is key if you have lactose intolerance. But don't worry because it may not last forever. I used to have trouble with milk and milk products, but I don't anymore.

Try to limit how much you eat. Often people don't look at the labels on the food they eat and actually eat double or triple what the recommended serving size is. Aside from the extra lactose, you're also getting lots of extra calories, fat, and sugar.

The best solution for you may be to try Lactaid or store-brand lactase enzyme tablets. When you're lactose intolerant your body does not produce enough of the lactase enzyme, which means your body can't digest milk. Taking these lactase enzyme pills assures you'll be able to eat dairy (not just ice cream) with no problems. They even come in individually wrapped packages so you can take them with you away from home.

If you want to avoid dairy alltogether, go a health foods store such as Whole Foods where you can find non-dairy ice cream and desserts. One such brand is Turtle Mountain (www.turtlemountain.com).

If none of this works, you could be having a bad reaction to another ingredient in the ice cream, but I suspect it's the milk.

  15. could be bacteria in your stomach.. try buying yogurt.. it has good bacteria that fights off the bad bacteria in your stomach.. i had stomach probs and it seemed to work for me

  16. I have a question, is the ice cream you buy sugar free? if yes, then that is your problem. I say stick with the sugar ice cream and know body has any problems :)

  17. limited amounts might be good .....but for the long term you may want to think about switching to either a soy ice cream or sorbet something that you stomach may handle better
