I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, panic disorder..i am 27 almost and all this started at 16years old. i went to three psychiatrists, tried 3 or 4 medications at 16..at 17 my psychiatrist helped me get into ged classes b/c i couldn't and didn't want to get out of bed to go to school. i also had back surgery in 2005. a herniated disc. my back constantly hurts, i can't bend over b/c i cant get back up if i do. if i sit too long my leg won't work right from nerve damage. currently since middle of 2006 i have been on 3 medications. zoloft, wellbutrin and occasionally xanax. i am still on wellbutrin and zoloft and xanax every now and then to help with panic attacks. i have also been on paxil cr..as a teenager i was on lithium,wellbutrin,zoloft..and if there were more i cant remember them all..i filled out for food stamps and disability 2 days ago.so far i have heard nothing. what should i do to help get the ball rolling? do i need to get my doctors charts or do they? also the three psychiatrists i went to as a teenager..their office is closed..out of business i guess?? how do i go about getting those charts???

  1. You probably don't need those charts from when you were a teenager. Your present Doctor should have sufficient enough of information. Your Doctor will be the one who gets the ball rolling for you if he/she agrees that you need disability. You'll never get it on your own, unless you employ a good disability Lawyer. The first thing the Government will do is send you to a Physician of their choosing to confirm your Physicians diagnoses. As a teen you probably couldn't get out of bed because of all the medications they had you on. You can also call your State Senator or Congressman to help things along. I wish for you the very best young lady. Wish you didn't have to take all those medicines. Hopefully one day you will and you'll no doubt feel better. Good luck.
