Question about dish TV setup box and DVR?

I am going for DTH service and wanted to know whether the setup boxes provided by the companies also record the TV program or I will have to buy a additional DVR and secondly on which recording media it records, whether these are having harddisk and how can I transfer recorded program on a CD/ DVD if it is not already recorded on CD and do I need a standalone VCD/DVD player if I want to play my own CD/DVD

You will need to get an additional DVR. When you get your set top box the manual will show how to connect your devices. You can also go to their website for more information.
