Question about drums?

Is it more important to have two mounted toms or two different crashs? I play ROCK and ALTERNATIVE music mostly, but occasionally metal (nothing too rough).

(I just bought a 4-piece gretsch set with 1 zildjian crash (along with zildjian hi-hats and ride), and I was wondering if I should buy either another tom or another crash first)

Usually a 5-piece set is the standard but not necessary. If you look at Buddy rich, he used a 4-pc set.

It's your choice. If you find the cymbal is more important for your type of music, especially metal, I would get the cymbals.

I always used 2 bass mounted toms and a floor tom
