Question:

Question about ear gauging..?

by  |  earlier

Im currently researching a few things about ear gauging at the moment and trying to read up on safety and warnings.

So far I found out alot except for a few things.

I already know about the tapers and everthing. I just wanted to know if I did decide to go ahead and go with it, what size is best to go with?

I dont plan on stretching my ears completely just up to a reasonable size (most likely keep it small).

Help please.

  1. 14 isn't a gauge. =/

It's still considered just a piercing, since.

That's usually the size BODY parts are pierced with.

If you're gona GAUGE your ears.

go to ATLEaST a 0 (pencil size)

It will close right up, if you decide to take em out.

    Otherwise...

    ..just stick to regular earrings.

  2. I just gauged my ears to an 18, and by Christmas i hope to be at a 14.

i would start slow. my friend jumped right into it and started with a 12. which didn't leave time for her ears to heal after being stretched so much.

at stores like hottopic they have little "kits" that include size 18-14 in one package. that's what i got and i am extremely happy with them.

    :D

    happy gauging :))))

  3. my daughter says a 14

  4. What do you mean by which size is best?  It just depends on how large you want to go.  There is no best size.  The standard for earlobes is usually 18 or so.  If you want to go a little bigger, but not noticeably stretched, then 14 and 12 are still pretty small.
