Question:

Question about employment?

I'm 16. And I was offered a job at Old Navy. They gave me the "Promise of Employment" paper, and said I would need a working permit. Also, they said they needed to do a background check. I'm going to get my working permit on Tuesday. However, I can't remember whether they said for me to call them, or that they'd call me. The second interview was on Monday, August 18th. What should I do (are they supposed to call me and tell me that everything went good with the background check, and they want me to start orientation, or am I supposed to call them)?

  1. you should call them when you get your work permit.  you can ask if you need to do anything else from there.  make sure you tell them you are looking forwarding to starting or something similar so they know you are serious

  2. if unsure, call them-it won't do any harm for you to look excited about starting. good luck!

  3. When you get your permit on Tuesday don't be afraid to call them just to say "Hi, I'm just calling to let you know I have my work permit".  Then you know it's on them to call you after they have completed the background check.
