ok well i not engaged yet, but we're in the early stages of looking, planning, etc.

and ive always wanted matching bands with my husband, but i doubt that one that he would wear would look good against a diamond engagement ring.

i like this engagement ring:

  1. You would need to just get a thinner band - the wide one is fine for your husband.

  2. If you really want matching wedding bands, then you should keep your eye out for a set that includes engagement ring as well as a mens and womens wedding bands.

Just so you know, you don't have to match.  My fiance wanted totally plain-jane band and I didn't.  I'm getting an aquamarine eternity band for when I want to just wear a band ring and also having a diamond band band that goes nicely with my engagement ring.  He has a plain tungsten band.

  3. I think they look nice..  They are both white gold but his is just a plain band.  It is not so much that they need to match but that you each should be happy with your rings.  No one is going to care that they match or don't match.  The person wearing them should be happy with it because they have to wear it every day.

  4. I think they look lovely.

  5. Personally, I think its completely unnecessary to get matching bands. Just get what you like for each person. The rings will never be next to each other when you are wearing them, so its not like wearing a shirt and pants that don't match. The ring I would have liked for my husband he actually  really hated, so he picked out one that he liked and it fits his style and personality and my rings fits me, that's all that matters. No one should have to wear a ring the rest of their life that they're not crazy about.

  6. I think they so just fine.

Our rings match, but it was an accident lol. I think getting a similar style male band with a small diamond would match even better. My fiances band as a simple small diamond.

  7. There was a trend for couples to have matching bands but if you don't like the style I suggest you not have matching bands.  You could do without an engagement ring, then buy bands that match for the wedding, and have a solitaire diamond mounted on the lady's band, if you want a diamond.  Otherwise, get the ring you like and the ring he likes.  I wear only my engagement/wedding ring because it is quite impressive on it's own and we would have had to have a wedding band custom made - and I didn't want to do that... and my husband doesn't wear a wedding ring.

  8. The simpler the better, in my opinion...classic wears well. They're both quite nice; but I can see how the satin finish might not "go" with  your engagement ring...however, try them both on & see; you might be pleasantly surprised.  You & your intended's rings don't have to match, & your rings don't have to match, either. A Strong suggestion: just make sure that your wedding band looks OK on its own. You WILL have occasion to take off your diamonds from time to time. And best wishes to you two.

  9. Go to the store and put on the smaller band of the one you like and then put on the diamond engagement ring and see what you like. Nothing online looks good compared to what it looks like in person. You could totally love it or hate once you see it on your hand.

  10. Ok... only my opinion........

It doesn't matter if they are a "set".  You should get the ring you like and he should get the ring he likes.

No one will ever notice that they aren't a set, and besides the "sets" are usually not that great.
