Question about eros and atm machine?

Ok I have a son whom just got to germany.My question is lets say he has$ 300.00 us dollars in his checking account and wants to take that money out of the atm machine in Germany,since the money will most likely be euro's how much should he take out?Like i mean what amount should he type in the Atm machine?He dont wanna over draw his acct and is having a hard time figuring it out.... Thanks

The money will be dispensed as euros in Germany ("eros" in your title is quite different) and you need to know the exchange rate, which has recently been over 1.5 dollars per 1 euro.  So the most he can withdraw is less than 200 euros.  Also, there is a fee of about 3% for changing the money, so he should probably reduce the withdrawal to 180 euros if it is important to not to overdraw his account.

Just use any currency exchange. . .The bank that he's at should be able to tell him the daily rate, or use an online system. Also, beware because odds are, the bank is going to charge him a fee to change the currency from the transaction.
